THE GHOUL - 1933 - BORIS KARLOFF - RARE DVD

$ 6.00

Professor Henry Morlant, played by Boris Karloff, is dying. The wealthy man has spent his fortune to purchase the jewel of eternal life, stolen from the Egyptian grave of a Pharaoh. With only a few breaths of life remaining in his body, he orders his limping servant to place the jewel in his hand and then bind that hand with bandages to seal the jewel in his palm. Egyptian legend says that when the full moon shines on the door of his grave, if he is clutching the jewel of eternal life in his hand, he will come back to life, unwrap the jewel of life and put it into the palm of an Egyptian statue that will grant him eternal life.

Now, with only moments to live, the old professor tells his servant that he is the only man that he fully trusts to obey his orders, and the servant begins to wrap the old man’s hand with the jewel of life clutched in it.

The next evening at sunset the old man is buried in a tomb with his bandaged hand, and the family gathers in the old mansion to hear the last will and testament of the old fellow. Unfortunately, the trusted limping servant has stolen the jewel of life and bandaged the old man’s hand with nothing clutched in his fist.

On the night of the first full moon, with a mansion full of relatives and other strange people, the dead man comes to life and staggers out of his grave and towards his mansion, in search of the jewel of life that should have been clasped in his hand. Pop a big bowl of white kernel popcorn with plenty of warm melted butter drizzled over it and enjoy the show.
