Chief Standing Rock thought his tribes' rights to fish the nearby river was protected by an old treaty, but when Canning king Hobart Nelson refuses to let them fish from his land, they learn they must fight to regain their livelihood. Some tribesmen like the rough Ki-Yote want to go on the war path, but the tribe's wise Medicine Man advises they instead fight with weapons of peace, which compels the Chief's son Braveheart to go study at the white man's college of law.
