A white child is saved by Sioux Chief Gray Eagle and his wife Mocking Bird and raised as their own son, whom they name Sky Fire. Now grown, Sky Fire has been attending the college of the white man and has fallen in love with Martha Randolph. However when he seeks her guardian's permission to marry her, his rival, Elias Thornby, exposes his Indian origins. In despair Sky Fire returns home to his Indian parents, but he may have a chance to reconcile with Martha because Elias, eager to get Martha's money, has brought her and her guardian out to the wilderness to execute a fiendish plot.
