Innocent young Toni Lebrun’s dreams of becoming an opera singer are exploited by wicked Madame Bauer who runs a seedy theatre. There Toni finds an unlikely friend in kindly old Rosa who invites her to vacation at the lavish Hotel Eden in Monte Carlo, where it seems Rosa is posing as a Baroness. Amongst the splendor Toni meets Colonel Dupont and his nephew Richard who both become smitten with her believing she is the daughter of a baroness.
