After several years at school Betty returns to her Kentucky home and the only family she has ever known, Daddy Bill and Jimmy, a pair of retired army scouts. The pair is surprised to see the little girl they remember has grown into a woman. Betty’s own hopes are put aside when Bill’s domineering sister decides Betty is going to marry her son Jack.
